Freestyle Friday

Went to a renaissance festival. Finally found a use for my Afghan blouse.

In better lighting

Zoomed in so you can see the texture.

The pants btw are the Joggers I posted about previously and the boots are what I call my Peter Pan boots. I got them from DSW they are made by Diba.im wearing a hoodie underneath only because it’s so cold!

Koto flannel

Drumroll please… the Koto flannel!! It’s a men’s shirt but fits me nicely with no tailoring! So I have 3 Uniqlo women flannels, which fit nicely. But, women’s shirts typically fit me a little light tight around the back, shoulder, and arms while men’s shirts are tight around the chest and hips. This XS size Koto flannel has none of these issues going on. Check it out!

I’m too shy to show my eyes I guess

While I’m on the topic (of how I hate how women’s shirts are tight around my shoulders), they really constrict my ability to move. Not only that but they are shorter and let cold air up easier. When twisting around swinging my arms in the fitting room, and complaining in a women’s shirt, my old roommate and fashion guru used to say… why in the world would you need to reach and move your arms like that? Um! What is if have to pick up a big pumpkin.. or scrape ice of a windshield.. or cut down a tree? Men’s clothes are practical which I like which can also include warmer. To the straight girls reading this… consider it! 🙂

Another sweater outfit

I’m gonna wear sweaters like there is no tomorrow

Here is the cream colored O’Hanlon Mills sweater I referred to earlier. This one is a small.

I’m wearing them with my charcoal Corduroys and brown leather Clark’s.

The pants are j crew matchsticks and I really really like how they fit. Watch how well I can move while trying to capture my cat with a selfie stick.

This was taken a few days ago with my levi 712s… the sweater in action with some sunlight-ish:

Ok, ONE fall outfit

Let’s say you hate fashion but I keep showing up on your feed so much that you think, “okay, fine -I give. What’s one thing I should consider adding to my wardrobe this fall?” Here it is:

1. Dark blue levi’s slim 712 cut jeans

2. A plaid shirt and a cream or grey shirt with brown buttons

3. Clark’s brown leather boots

4. A shawl collar sweater.

You can wear these clothes everyday of the week and it might be after 20 days that someone realizes you only have two shirts. They are the perfect amount of blending in while still looking like you know what you are doing / looking good. The shawl collar sweater is clutch because you can wear a sweater everyday and no one thinks you are a pig pen. Everyone thinks you are changing the shirt underneath everyday when in reality there may not be one. Everyone should have a go to outfit that they know they can pull off all season long without thinking about it. This is it.

This sweater is a men’s xsmall from J. Crew. And, as always, those are the levi’s.

Colors 2?

Hey everyone! You may have run across a peice of clothing that was so good you wanted it in every color. Then you might have wondered if that was a good idea. I’m here to give my opinion: I think so!

I think finding clothes for lesbians can be especially difficult. You walk into the average store and 95% of the women’s clothes are too feminine and 95% of the men’s clothes don’t fit. So if you find something that you actually like I say, go for it! It doesn’t happen often enough.

My one tip I have about that refers back to the colors guide I wrote. Seasons have different colors associated with them and if you wear a color that compliments your surroundings’ color then it makes you look a little easier on the eyes. That being said, if you buy two colors of the same product, go for colors in different seasons. This strategy will allow you to wear the peice of clothing that you love at different times so its not as obvious to others that you are always wearing the same item, and is not too over repetitive to you either.

The obvious example of this are plain t shirts or jeans, but can also be used with chinos, shoes, and all sorts of other things.

Here are my examples. First a women’s north face jacket. Loose fitting but not overly baggy… I’m in love. Got a fall and spring color.

image

Next I love Clark’s desert boots because they come in men’s sizes 6 and 6.5. They also come in women’s sizes and are cheaper in women’s without losing any quality. Sad part is I have wide feet lol. Anyway love them so much I got a dark gray and a light gray. I know it’s hard to tell the seasonal difference in the picture but when paired with pants the difference really shows.

image

Anddddd now I’ll wear them to highlight everything I just said. I think one looks naturally more like spring while the other looks like autumn, so it gives the look a break (over winter) and brings it back in a way that works. What do you think? Hope you found this slightly interesting!  🙂

JOGGERS!! Why don’t you have them yet???

Seriously if you have not bought these already you should… they are basically everything every stereotypical lesbian has ever wanted. They are definitely a men’s look and cut but are selling in the women’s section at PacSun as we speak. They are like jogging pants that are trying to be chinos and appropriate to be seen in public in! They are comfy beyond all imagination. I got these from PacSun they are made by bullhead.

PS I adopted a cat!!

Met my boss at lunch

In case you like background stories, I have recently completed the move from Kailua, HI to near Kansas City, MO. Had to meet with my new boss for a lunch at a pizza place before I start work. This

is what I wore!

Blue and off white plaid shirt from uniqlo with dark blue levi’s and Johnston and Murphy black leather boots.  And why yes that’s a selfie stick. The outfit says casual but something about fancy leather boots says I’m still a grown-up. I want for focus on this item because I really love them

From the side

I will do another post where I wear them over my pants. I got them at the outlet mall!
